All team members are invited and encouraged to attend, but not required to do so. At a minimum, however, each team must be represented by at least one person or the team will not be allowed to compete. Anyone with a question should contact the Race Director, Bob Becker, directly, at 954-439-2800, or bob@ultrasportsllc.com.
PALM100 TEE SHIRTS:
Each runner this year will receive a PALM100 technical tee shirt. A limited number of cotton short sleeve and cotton long sleeve shirts will also be available for purchase at pre-race packet pick-up on Friday evening.
PALM100 RACE PARKING:
Parking can be a challenge late in the day in March with Spring Break crowds in town. For parking options at the finish line, refer to the race website, www.palm100.com. Go to, ”Race Facts & FAQ” and look for the paragraph on Parking.
Before the race start on Saturday morning, teams may wish to consider meeting away from the beach, then driving together in the team vehicle for the race start. Parking the team vehicle for the start of the race will be no problem. Park short-term in the municipal lot at the corner of Las Olas Blvd. and A1A, across the street from the race start/finish line.
PALM100 HOTEL:
The race hotel, Courtyard by Marriott, is half a block from the race start/finish line, right at the beach. Our special rate is $179. Come to the post-race Awards event on the hotel pool deck, then take the elevator to your room for some deserved R&R. See the race website for the hotel link.
PALM100 AWARDS EVENT:
Be sure to include this hour-long hang-out in your race weekend plans. Totally unique, hand-made awards will be presented in many categories to team members. (A complete list of race awards appears on the race website.) The drawing/raffle will give away some great items from our race sponsors—but you must be present to win. A free drink for every runner, dining menu from Bubba Gump’s and a full bar are right there for you to enjoy while the awards are presented. Saturday evening at 10:00 PM, outside pool deck, Courtyard Hotel, Fort Lauderdale Beach. Swimming and towels are complimentary to all PALM100 racers and guests.
PALM100 “ROUTE MAP” FOR 2010
The updated route map book is posted on the race website. This is an indispensable tool on race day to keep everyone on track and out of trouble, and to locate conveniences like bathrooms, food stores, etc. Each team will be given one copy at the pre-race meeting and it will be reviewed in detail at that time. Help your own race effort by becoming familiar with the Route Map before race weekend.
PALM100 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED; CREW & VOLUNTEER PARTICIPATION FORM REQUIRED:
We still need a few good men—and women—on race day! Please refer volunteers to the Race Director, Bob Becker, at 954-439-2800, or bob@ultrasportsllc.com.
